Antique Marks Collection presents a stunning Wedgwood fairyland lustre bowl by Daisy Makeig Jones dating to circa 1930 and decorated with pixies and fairies. In 1909 Daisy Makeig Jones joined Wedgwood as a trainee designer and grew to be a pivotal factor in Wedgwoods survival

A Stunning Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre Bowl by Daisy Makeig Jones circa 1930

From the antique-marks collection we have a wonderful original Wedgwood fairyland lustre bowl by Daisy Makeig Jones. A highly collectable and much sought after art deco piece with the interior beautifully decorated in typical Makeig Jones fashion with fairies and pixies among woodland scenes in a green, gold and amber palette.

The exterior face displaying a band of bounding stags and deer above a stylised flame border. The foot and the underside in gold and the whole bounded by geometric pattern borders in gold and powder blue.

This is a truly wonderful and very rare & collectable display piece of Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre ware.

Wedgwood Makers Marks :

The bowl bears the Wedgwood portland vase makers mark.

Together with hand scripted marks

The marks dating reliably to c1920's.

Size & Weight :

The Daisy Makeig Jones bowl stands: 8.5cm tall with a 20.5cm diameter rim.

It has a 9.5cm diameter foot rim.

This Fairyland Lustre bowl weighs approximately 600 gms.

About Daisy Makeig Jones

In 1909 Daisy Makeig Jones joined Wedgwood as a trainee designer and played a key part in Wedgwoods survival.

Due in large extent to her development of a dazzling range of new glazing techniques, particularly one which produced a finish of multi-coloured iridescence.

Daisy was the real catalyst for change at Wedgwoods Etruria works in Stoke-on-Trent.

And; Daisy's art school training helped Wedgwood continue to grow.
