Recently I have purchased this decanter for our bar. I found it beautiful and very interesting. I have no info on where it was made, time period, or who it was made by. The woman I purchased it from had no information either. Except it was her mothers and she was previously a antique dealer, as well as her mother. It was said to be pewter and cranberry glass. I have searched the internet and cannot find one like it. There are similar styles but none exactly like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ya , I found an identical one to yours on a google search , however it appears to have a completely wrong stopper in the top !
I have a feeling it could actually be a water jug rather than a wine decanter!
It is definitely Victorian era, but based on the handle design it could well be an item out of Germany ?
A rare survivor with the fluted glass edge still in tacked.
I did google search as follows : cranberry glass & pewter wine decanter
It is the second row , dead centre.

I tried going to the site it is listed on but they have over 4,500 items to view , if your wanting to sell I think auction house would be the way to go to acquire a competitive price for the rarity of the item.

Good luck
