This has been passed down through my family. It came from England with my ancestors. Would like to find out what the set is worth. I know that it was made on Jan 30th 1883. The pattern is "Melton" by Wedgwood, it was the 12th bundle on that date. Attached is a picture of front of a dinner plate and the other is the Makers Mark.

As you have stated It is an item by Wedgwood and Sons - England - Design is Melton - I did a google search and came across this site hope it helps , I would approach an auction house to sell it that is what your looking at wanting to do - appears to be circa 1880's .
