Hi ya , I found an identical one to yours on a google search , however it appears to have a completely wrong stopper in the top ! I have a feeling it could actually be a water jug rather than a wine decanter! It is definitely Victorian era, but based on the handle design it could well be an item out...

As you have stated It is an item by Wedgwood and Sons - England - Design is Melton - I did a google search and came across this site hope it helps , I would approach an auction house to sell it that is what your looking at wanting to do - appears to be circa 1880's . https://www.worthpoint.com/worth...

I have no idea Bill, but it looks like it could be an incense holder, I think the funky hair has been added just for fun. Am always looking for incense burner holders and it would blend beautifully with my bathroom. would you be interested in selling it. I live in Australia - Cheers Carla

Dont know who the marks are about, but I love to collect blue and white crockery would you be interested in selling them to me ? I live in Australia !
